- The State of Pennsylvania does not license inspectors, but inspectors are governed by statute. Must be a full member in good standing in a national, not-for-profit home inspection association or supervised by someone who is

- Background check, fingerprints are not required
- Insurance Requirements: E&O and General Liability insurance for $100,000 per occurrence and $500,000 in the aggregate and deductibles of not more than $2500

REQUIREMENTS TO BECOME A OKLAHOMA HOME INSPECTOR
- Oklahoma home inspection education hours: 90 hours
- Exam Required: NHIE or similar qualifying exam

- Insurance Requirements: General Liability for a minimum of $50,000 combined single limit for bodily injury and property damage
- Notarized applications are required
- Background check and fingerprints are not required

- North Dakota home inspection education hours: No education required
- Exam Required: NHIE, ASHI, or ICC

- Notarized application is not required
- Background check, fingerprints are not required
- Minimum age requirement: 18

REQUIREMENTS TO BECOME A NORTH CAROLINA HOME INSPECTOR
- North Carolina home inspection education hours: 120 hours
- Inspections: 80 hours field with 10 site visits
- Exam Required: NC Exam
- Application Fee: $35 (other fees may apply)
- Insurance Requirements: General Liability for a minimum of $250,000 plus one of the following: a) minimum net assets (somewhere between $5k and $10k); b) a bond (somewhere between $5k and $10k); or c) E&O Insurance for $250,000

- High School Diploma or GED is required

- Insurance Requirements: General liability for a minimum of $150,000 per occurrence and $500,000 aggregate
- Notarized application, background check, and fingerprints are not required
- No minimum age requirement
- High School Diploma or GED is required
